Dear Readers,
As we wake each morning to a cacophony in the marketplace, this website will hopefully be a guidebook to help you disconnect from the distractions of the world. To step outside your front door and begin to grow your very own community in your own front yard, on your patio, or around your kitchen table.
Life is so short, fragile, and unpredictable. God created us to connect face-to-face, but technology has caused us to lose our ability to do that. The goal of this website is two-fold. 1) Share my experiences as an introvert, who sadly does not know her neighbors (well, except for the guy who mows my yard, I do at least know his name), as I venture out beyond my front steps to see what God has in store for me. 2) Secondly, to chronicle both my ups and downs as I seek to learn to grow food, as well as steward the land I have in a way that brings honor and glory to God, while also intertwining it with growing a community of people who hopefully don’t think, look, or act just like me…because that is boring.
Final thoughts. This site, and my socials, are designed to encourage, to bring humor, and to learn to grow as a child of God. What you will find is content related to my relationship with Jesus, family, neighbors, new and old friends, and of course, more soon-to-be garden…or at least a few plants. Here you will find me focusing on what matters. Jesus is always first, then followed by family, friends, and community. I have learned that when I am intentional about what I focus on (and that intentional focus is Jesus first), then I am far less stressed about the world around me, and that is a lovely place to be. Like being in a cozy cabin with the fire going inside, rain falling softly on the outside, and a good cup of coffee in my hand. For me, that is the picture of peace.
Final, final thoughts. In essence, I am looking for my Homesteading, permaculture, regenerative farming, “Acts” people. If any reader out there is unsure of what I mean by “Acts” people, I will be happy to share that with you.
